Privacy Policy
Last updated
We collect as little personal information as we can, use it only to help you, and never sell it. This page explains what that means in practice.
Who we are
Master Lawyer is a law firm with offices in New York, London and Paris. In this policy “we” and “us” mean the firm, and “you” means anyone who visits this website or contacts us through it.
Questions about this policy or your personal information go to our privacy team at privacy@example.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us and the small amount of technical information every website receives:
- Contact and booking forms: your name, email address, phone number, the practice area, office, meeting type and time you choose, and anything you write about your situation.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Technical information: your browser type, device and the pages you visit, as recorded in our server logs.
Please do not send confidential details of a legal matter through a website form. Sending a form does not create a lawyer–client relationship.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange the consultation you asked for.
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to; every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the website secure and working, and to understand which pages are useful.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations as a law firm.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
Cookies and local storage
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
If you change the font or icon style with the customizer, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site looks the same on your next visit. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the people who need it to help you: the lawyers and staff working on your request, and service providers who host this website and deliver our email. They may use it only on our instructions. We disclose information to courts or authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become a matter are deleted after 12 months. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Client files are kept for the period our professional rules require.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to limit how we use it, or to send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to its use for the newsletter at any time.
To make a request, email privacy@example.com. We will answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced on our home page.
